Nyc Body Painting Day July 22nd 2017

New York City BodyPainting 2017

This day was quite amazing. So many wonderful people were painted and went to supported the cause of having a positive body image. This is my third event that I've been to as a visitor.  2015, 2016 and now 2017. Much respect to Andy Golub who put this very amazing and super creative event together, with the help of many wonderful people. Pictures to follow
Here's the scoop...
The day began as it always did, with the Sun in the sky and it was a splendid day.
I was drawn to this day over the course of my life because:
One, every drawing, artist at some point must study the human frame and draw it and give honor to the body's Creator for making it do amazing things, and just to see it in its natural non-sexualized form.
Two: There is a measure of bravery that is set forth in the presentation of ones self to be painted, naked, in public that requires confident in self , acceptance and trust in the stranger painting you. It's a human tribal emphasis thing. Like you are dressed in war paint and now presenting for the creative tribe you represent.
Three, it is free to attend.
Four, This flies in the face of many industries and shows that underneath our clothes that we wear, we are humans of all shapes and sizes. With beating hearts families and that we are all the same and should really get past the fear of nudity and really consider the freedom that awaits when you have the permission to do this event with the support of the city and the police and the presentations and art form clause. Permission is the greatest achievement to any advancement, with it you are invincible and protected.
Five, The paint is like a second skin. How would I know you ask? Well I have actually been painted before at this years body notes event in Times Square and the paint coats your skin like a skin fitted super suit. I hope to post some information on this in the near future.
Six, Here is a link to the many more painted living canvases.
