I've now, like two minutes ago, come to realize why many attend a service at a building. After spending the last two weeks involved in a non church meeting and gathering outside the building. Here are my reasons:
1. You don't have to clean your house
2. You don't really have to be on your game all week you can just prepare the night before while ironing for service on Sunday.
3. You can switch on or switch off ministry that is performed at a building by stating Im not feeling well I need to go home. And can leave it behind.
3a. You get a phone call from all who see didnt see you on Sunday.
4. You can remain invisible by just finding a corner and sitting in it. Not so if you are in a home gathering , your presence and your contribution is missed immediately.
5. No one asks you "how's your spirituality" if you attend a service, just assume you're living for God if you attend a service. Like Check, I see them, there they are, they are doing well, I guess!
6. You never know who that person who is apparently spiritual and God honouring going to be like if you live with them for more than two hours on a Sunday. Live with anyone from your Sunday group and you will see how spiritual they truly are.
7. Everything looks neat and nice in "the Lord's house".
8. Someone else is responsible for knowing your spiritual life and protecting you once a week from bad doctrines you may have in countered. That can be very relaxing
9. You can give easily knowing that the change you give will power the system and keep at least one persons bills and family out of the shelters.
10. You can sit for years as a spectator and still feel good about yourself. "I went to church" as opposed to taking the way tougher road and "being the church everyday right where you are. Not saying there's none at the building attending, but saying the vast majority has been trained to go and not be.
11. Except for getting up early, getting the family ready on your day off and driving a good distance to get a good seat to hear a good message, it's convenient spiritually because in one hour you can go back home to catch up on rest.
12. That you can not be very busy, and still feel like you're accomplishing very much.
